Love Can Be a Discipline

Our attitude often determines our fate in life and Love Can Be a Discipline. We could quickly evaluate where most of our thoughts on a daily basis grade our attitude about life. Are we more angry most of the time at our circumstances or mostly living in gratitude?

What are our first thoughts at waking? Are we happy to begin a new day? This is a first indication about how you feel about your life. Do we have plans to move our life forward and push our continuous effort to explore who we are? Having a goal of self-actualization sets up our attitude about our life.

Self-Actualization is Loving Our Reason for Being Here

Self-actualization is the pursuit of fulfilling our potential. What is the composite of our genes, upbringing, education, and efforts created in our lives so far? Have we decided to stay where we are, recede into the recesses of daily life where no one will bother us, or continue to bloom into a contributing member of the human race?

Opportunity is available to most everyone. We often read how those who are severely handicapped have achieved greatness. This should serve as an example that spirit is more important than gifts. Persistence is a discipline and attitude that recognizes achievement is about overcoming obstacles.

Look for the Opportunities to Explore Who You Are

We can love our opportunity to experience who we are and make the most of our lives. When we have this attitude, we recognize that life is a palette and we can paint a picture of our choosing. We assess our capabilities and resources. We engage in improving our skills. We look for opportunities to serve.

Love is a discipline. We can make daily choices to live with love. We can love ourselves. We can love where we live. We can take opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and Nature. We can learn to love our routines. We learn to love others and spend time with those that makes us grateful. We do our best to make our work important to others. We can inventory the things for which we are grateful many times a day.

Love is an Attitude

Love is an attitude. We can regularly inventory the things we love. We can include the things we love in our life. We can have an optimistic attitude that life will deliver for us and that our attitude is important to bring the opportunities that make our life better. The more faith we have that we are living the life intended for us, the more love we have for the opportunity of being here.

Often at death’s door, people start recalling and accounting for what worked in their lives and what they regretted. Most people regret not loving more and not spending enough time enjoying what life has to offer. One doesn’t have to be rich to be happy. Many rich people have learned how to make money but not how to live a rewarding life.

Find the things for which you have passions and include them in your life. Passion is one of life’s greatest rewards. People discover who they are through their passions. People discover the joy of life through their passions. They look forward to engaging in their passions every day. This pursuit is what makes life so rewarding. This pursuit is what makes us love our life.
