How Can You Get Firing on All Cylinders

Life comes at you fast and we may feel we are pro-active or at the effect of these forces. Being pro-active, we have a game plan and it includes facing resistance and obstacles. If we are at the effect of these forces, we may be in more of a defensive mode most of the time which makes us feel like we are just surviving.

When we have a good plan, we have scheduled our high priority activities for our most energetic periods. We set time blocks for progress. We have a passion for what we are doing and expect we can overcome obstacles and resistance.

Making Your Own Plan

What are some ingredients of a good plan. We regard our health and wellbeing as priorities. This will include diet, exercise, relaxation, and maybe a spiritual practice. We are identifying with our work and it feels purposeful. It may even define why we are here.

We have balance in our life with good relationships and time for activities we enjoy that are not work. We are always improving with the intention of making a bigger contribution. Learning, creativity, and contribution are in our thoughts. We have learned how to reduce time wasting activities and to-do-lists or save them for after we have accomplished our day’s goals.

We have our eyes on the future and use our days to get closer to our goals. Our future is our manifesting into our true potential. Our future is not subject to just the economy, how our organization prospers, politics, and other worldly influences. We have a plan within a plan.

Take Care of You First

If we are growing our skills, spending time on creativity for new ideas or problem solving, improving our health, seeking ways to make a bigger contribution, caring for people, protecting those close to us, and feel a spiritual connection to all things, we will see our way through the many obstacles we encounter.

If we are at the effect of everything in our external world, we might find ourselves bouncing off walls like a pinball. If everything negatively effects our feelings of personal worth and wellbeing, we will be unhappy and looking for escapes. We might be playing the blame game.

Make health a priority. This is love of yourself and feeling your wellbeing is a blessing. Feel the connection between yourself and others and all things. You are never alone but part of a whole that is moving through time in perhaps a disjointed manner, but there is symmetry in progress.

Selecting Your Priorities

Make your personal and career growth priorities reflected in how you prioritize your time. The most important forward moving activities have to get the highest energy. You need time blocks to salute the importance of the most important activities and ensure you attend to them every day.

Ensure your relationships are well maintained for they are the cement that holds your world together. Your first relationship is with yourself. You must feel every morning that you are alert, vibrant, optimistic, and caring. The next relationship is with family. You are trying to ensure they are in a good place with their lives.

Next are your circles. Are you on the same page with friends, co-workers, your organization, and any other important associations in your life. They say you get back what you give out, so attention to your contributions will effect your life satisfaction as well.

Have time for solitude, relaxation, Nature walks, and conversations. This is your personal time that will make your feel secure in yourself. You must take time for yourself to value your self-worth. The Universe moves forward and you are a valuable piece. You must hold your value in high esteem by living your purpose and knowing why you are here.

As a Thriving Worker Consultant, I can engage in conversations with employers on how to begin the process of helping workers thrive and reach peak performance. It begins with a conversation to see how far an organization is willing to go to change the culture for workers.

Great practices for daily living can be learned with the Markap Series of Books. If your organization would like live presentations or Zoom meetings, they can be arranged for small to large groups.
