The Positive Lifestyle for Change includes growth behaviors. Choosing the right behaviors is the foundation for positive living. Positive living results in many lifestyle benefits.
Some of the positive behaviors are healthy eating, exercise, learning, good sleep, relaxation, creativity contributing, empathy, and sharing. These are values and principals. Each can be part of a core belief that forms a perspective and foundation for action.
The values can be included each day through time management. The best way to manage time for activities is to create time blocks. Each time block has a purpose and focus. The blocks are most productive when interruptions are not allowed. At the end of the day, one feels more accomplished and closer to their goals.
Behaviors are more effective when they express ones expectations. What do you expect for your life? How do you want to live? What do you want to accomplish? What do you want to feel at the end of every day? These abstract questions are the basis of making real life decisions.
The choices we make determine the results we experience. Our present situation is the result of the choices we have been making all our life. If we want the present to continue or to change, it will depend on the choices we make.
We have to work with the aspects that influence our well being. Health, mental acuity, emotional balance, and spirituality, are all influences on how we will behave in the world. They form the basis of how we feel about ourselves, what we think about life, how we want others to fare, what we want to contribute to the world.
When we have solid foundations of well being, we can work more effectively on learning, creativity, productivity, and contribution. These values may have the most effect on what we earn. What we bring to the table can influence what we contribute and what we contribute is often the determinant of what we earn.
The second important aspect is how our behaviors lead to activities that are in alignment with what we desire out of life. If we have passionate goals, our pursuit will determine our lifestyle. If we want a certain lifestyle, it will determine what we pursue. Positive behaviors will make our desires more congruent. They will make our goals more actionable.
Happiness is mostly found in the pursuit more than in reaching the end. When we reach the end, it is the nature of happiness that we have to find the next summit. Happiness occurs in the process because this is how Nature set up the happiness brain chemicals. When we reach the end, she quickly pushes cortisol into our system which tells us there is more that needs to be done.
Setting up the right behaviors and making them part of a growth mentality in which our routine is always focused on growth, health, and contribution will sustain happiness and our effectiveness to achieve our personal and career goals.
