There are many benefits to Building Creative Energy. Creative energy is the source of new ideas and better problem solving. Creative energy is how we express ourselves and discover our essence.
Three great ways to unlock creative energy are passions, health, and meaningful goals. Passion stimulates all the happiness and supportive brain chemicals that raise our potential. Health aligns all our systems to provide clear thinking and balance. Meaningful goals are the motivation to face all resistance to accomplish our purpose.
Lifestyle can be the bedrock of our creative energies. Living healthy through eating and exercise optimizes our energy potential. We must add to the mix good sleep and times of relaxation. A calm nervous system is crucial for creative energy.
Passions are usually the result of engaging in something that interested us and learning enough to master the mechanics. At this point we can enter flow as we engage shutting down the critical prefrontal cortex and energizing dopamine and maybe endorphins. It is an addictive pursuit that has us coming back and looking forward to more engagement.
Meaningful goals can be centered around personal improvement and growth. Both excite the brain because they are surviving and thrive behaviors that stimulate dopamine. If our intention is to help others and contribute, we add serotonin and oxytocin. This cocktail of stimulus pushes us through resistance and obstacles that would stop less motivated or passionate people.
Endurance bicycle riders say that in prepping for long distance rides, first know the why. Why are you doing it. In times of stress that will inevitably come, you must know why you are doing it to get you through the suffering. I found that in losing dramatic weight, the resistance put up by my metabolism required a strong sense of purpose and “why” to bust through the barriers.
Creativity is how we can self-actualize. It is the path to discovering who we are. It is the expression of who we are and our purpose. The more we bring to the table in our efforts, the more success we will enjoy.
