Reduce Stress Through Better Daily Practices and improve productivity and life satisfaction. We all want to be happy and feel we are spending our time productively or purposefully.
The issues of work/life balance and having more free time are closely aligned with the amount of stress we allow in our lives. Stress is disruptive. It produces cortisol which can lead to negative habits for relief such as over eating, alcohol, and sedentary behavior.
Stress can be relieved by having counter balancing strategies planned into our day. Several practices or habits are anti-stress. Exercise is the obvious one. By its nature, exercise rids our body of inflammation and replaces it with soothing fluids and chemicals. It can be addicting.
Healthy Eating is a Stress Reducer
Healthy eating fights stress and the innate nature of stress to induce poor eating habits. Poor eating habits lead to weight gain, feeling poorly, and lower self-esteem. Healthy eating is a habit of discipline giving you control of your life and elevating your self-esteem.
Working in blocks of productivity. It is too easy to get carried away by emails, phone surfing, urgent situations, time pressure, things to do, and menial tasks. Introducing at least 3 high priority, goal reaching, productive, and fulfilling time blocks in a day result in summarizing we had a good day.
Have a free time block each day. Workers place free time above promotions and having children in recent surveys. It must be important. Create a free time block to contemplate, listen to music, read a book, do nothing, or have a coffee and think about life at your favorite French Bakery. The busiest people on the planet prioritize reading for an hour each day.
In spite of all the demands, you can guide your life and have more focus on important priorities. This is the only way you gain control of your time. Well spent time is a well spent life.
