Does Your Life Have a Unique Selling Proposition

does your life have a unique value proposition

Having a Unique Selling Proposition is a valuable tool for a product or service. It differentiates you from competitors. Some products have a slogan like “Its the Pepsi Generation” meaning to me that you better drink Pepsi or you are not part of the community.

Does your life have a theme that distinguishes you from others? I have found that my theme is I am good at coaching and it is what I prefer to do. In fact, I have difficulty being enthused about anything else. I started in college trying majors such as economics and accounting. I thought, its all academics. Then I went to law school. I thought the same thing.

My Themes Started Early

I went into real estate in which I daily was in touch with people trying to serve them. This was the business that got my passion. Then I became a manager to get other people to become better agents. Now I am a surf coach which is, of course, trying to get people to surf.

A second theme has been always trying to improve and it has indirectly lead to getting other people to improve. I became a certified health coach and personal trainer plus a nutrition specialist. I have been working to improve who I am and sharing what I have learned. That is the third theme; sharing what I learn.

Look at your life. Does it have themes of you following your interests? Have you tried to build specific skills? Have you followed specific passions? Is there a specific contribution you are trying to make? Are you guiding others on how to improve their lives? Is your life making a difference to people you know-mate, children, friends, co-workers, community, or mankind?

Your Purpose and Life Path

Do you have dreams you are pursuing or goals toward which you are working? Does your life have meaning other than what you? Do you see yourself as being unique in your ability to make a contribution?

The way I pursue my goal of being unique is through self-actualization. In working to become the best I can become in several areas, I am building my uniqueness. I work on health, learning, creativity, relationships, and contributing as areas where I define who I am and my purpose.

Who you are should be an evolving process. You are continuously becoming more of who you are. Stagnation is not your friend. You live to optimize your energy. You live to optimize your health which improves your longevity. You work on your specific skills to improve your contribution. You have resilience to setbacks because you have a passion for your activities. This requires continuous progress.

Your Unique Value Proposition

Your Unique Life Proposition or Unique Value Proposition is to fully discover who you are which will continue until you die. We do not need to peak or begin deteriorating at 50 years old. In their book Younger Next Year, the authors say we can be vital to 85 with continuous exercise. The plasticity in our brain says we can learn until we die. The growth requirements of our brain and body say we don’t deteriorate until we stop growing.

Your plan must be more comprehensive that your career goal. You have a life goal that says your uniqueness is continuing to manifest. Every day you are becoming better and if we want to see who you are, stay in touch for the improvements. You are a wonder unfolding like a flower that opens every day to the sun. You open every day to the opportunites. You enjoy every day with the gratitude for having the opportunity to show us who you are.
